Taj Mahal Guided visit to the Taj Mahal

Your guide covers the story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, the marble inlay and the gardens, and shows you the best spots for photographs. The monument opens 30 minutes before sunrise and is closed on Fridays.

Explore Agra's four great Mughal sights in one unhurried day, with a private English-speaking guide and your own air-conditioned car, collected from your hotel or the railway station in Agra. You see the Taj Mahal first, while the light is soft and the grounds are quieter, then Agra Fort, a lunch break of your choice, the Baby Taj (Itimad-ud-Daulah) and the view of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh across the Yamuna.

Ticket costs, for context: Entry tickets are not included by default: add them as an option and we arrange them, or buy them at each gate. Foreign visitors pay ₹1,100 for the Taj Mahal (plus ₹200 for the main mausoleum), ₹650 for Agra Fort, ₹310 for Itimad-ud-Daulah and ₹300 for Mehtab Bagh. Indian nationals pay ₹50 (plus ₹200), ₹50, ₹30 and ₹25. Children under 15 are free. The Archaeological Survey of India sets these fees and they can change.

Good to know

Know before you go: The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday, so this tour can't run on a Friday. Drones, tripods and food are not allowed inside the Taj Mahal, and photography is not allowed inside the main mausoleum chamber.
