The Oberoi Amarvilas is the top-ranked hotel in Agra on TripAdvisor and by far the most expensive, at an average standard-room rate of roughly ₹61,000 to ₹1.65 lakh a night. Almost every other premium and luxury hotel in Agra, including the ITC Mughal, Jaypee Palace, DoubleTree by Hilton and Courtyard by Marriott, averages between about ₹5,000 and ₹32,000 a night. Below is how ten of the best-known ones rank, what they cost and who each suits. Every figure was checked on 11 October 2026.

Agra's premium and luxury hotels, ranked

TripAdvisor ranks 286 hotels in Agra. This table lists ten well-known premium and luxury hotels in that order. "Mid-point average" is the middle of the range TripAdvisor gives for a standard room, converted at about ₹96 to the dollar and rounded, so treat it as a planning figure, not a quote.

A high rank is not the same as a high price. TripAdvisor's rank is its popularity ranking across all 286 Agra hotels, which weighs how many reviews a hotel has and how recent they are as well as the score. That is why the Radisson, rated 4.6, sits at #56 while the Jaypee Palace, rated 4.5, is #2. The ranks also move from week to week.

For a quick early-season check, the lowest rates TripAdvisor listed for a one-night stay starting on 18 October 2026 were about ₹4,900 at the Radisson, ₹5,600 at the DoubleTree, ₹6,900 at the Jaypee Palace and the Courtyard by Marriott, ₹12,800 at the Taj Agra, ₹16,000 at the ITC Mughal and ₹74,800 at the Oberoi Amarvilas. Prices go up in the winter peak.

The hotels, one by one

The Oberoi Amarvilas: #1 in Agra

The top-ranked hotel in Agra, rated 4.9 from about 5,600 reviews. It has 102 rooms, and guests describe rooms with direct views of the Taj Mahal, a pool and landscaped gardens. It is the only hotel in this guide that averages more than ₹60,000 a night, so most travellers treat it as a splurge for one special night rather than a long stay.

ITC Mughal: #24, with extensive gardens

You may know it as the Welcomgroup Mughal Sheraton. It now trades as ITC Mughal, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, and is listed on Marriott's website. It has 233 rooms, 51 of them suites, set in about 9 hectares (93,000 square metres) of Mughal-style gardens, with a full spa. Rated 4.4 from about 9,400 reviews. At a mid-point average of about ₹20,700 a night it is the priciest hotel here after the Oberoi, and it suits travellers who want a resort feel rather than a city hotel.

Jaypee Palace: #2 in Agra

A very large property with 341 rooms, rated 4.5 from about 5,300 reviews. TripAdvisor puts it 2.3 miles (about 3.7 km) from the Taj Mahal. Guests talk about the palace-style building, the gardens and the buffet. With a mid-point average of about ₹16,800 it sits between the big-name chains and the Oberoi, and its size and convention centre suit groups and events.

DoubleTree by Hilton Agra: #6

The Hilton option in Agra. It has 104 rooms and is rated 4.7 from about 5,800 reviews. Guests mention a pool with a view of the Taj Mahal, a spa and sauna, a children's play area and good food, and TripAdvisor shows breakfast included on some rates. At about ₹11,800 a night on average it is one of the better-value hotels in this guide.

Courtyard by Marriott Agra: #18

The Marriott option, with 189 rooms, rated 4.7 from about 6,200 reviews. Guests mention the pool, the gym, a children's room and an evening puppet show. The mid-point average is about ₹13,100 a night.

Radisson Hotel Agra: #56

Rated 4.6 from about 5,000 reviews, with a rooftop pool and an on-site spa according to the hotel. Its mid-point average of about ₹11,400 is among the lowest in this guide, and it was the cheapest hotel in our 18 October check. Radisson's own site shows rates starting around ₹4,200 a night.

How we got these numbers

Rankings, ratings, review counts, room counts and average rate ranges are from each hotel's TripAdvisor page and TripAdvisor's Agra luxury hotels and 5-star hotels lists, read on 11 October 2026. TripAdvisor gives its average rates in US dollars for a standard room; we converted them at about ₹96 to the dollar, the rate shown by Wise in October 2026, and rounded. Details of the ITC Mughal's rooms and grounds are from its Marriott page, and the Radisson's rooftop pool and starting rate from the Radisson Hotel Agra page.

Ranks and prices change often, and a hotel's own site or booking page is the final word on a rate. We take no payment or commission for any hotel listed here, in line with our no-commission pledge. The cover image is an illustration, not a photograph of any hotel.
